Study tour in Poland

The repre-sentatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and the Centre for Effective Governance System and Territorial Arrangement Reform (CEGSTAR) visited Poland for the study tour.

The Center for Effective Governance System and Territorial Arrangement Reform (CEGSTAR),, together with the Department of the Civil Service in the Polish Chancellery of the Prime Minister (DCS), within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Process of the Human Resources Development in the Framework of the Support of the Georgian Government in the Regional Development Strategy Implementation", co-financed under the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs program "Polish Aid 2010", is pleased to announce a traineeship for representatives of Georgian public administration institutions from central and local level.

The primary objective of the Traineeship is to support regional development in Georgia by empowering public servants with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective implementation of the Strategy for Regional Development in Georgia.

The traineeship program provides the opportunity of 4 week traineeship to be undertaken in the Polish public administration institutions, including 3-day seminar on Civil Service System, together with workshops on description and evaluation of job positions in the civil service.

Trainees will be involved in daily work of the organizational units of the host institutions in order to get familiar with the scope of the activities of the particular institutions and acquire practical knowledge on Polish experience and EU standards and practices in the domain of regional development.

Host institution: Public Administration Institutions (Ministries, State Agencies, Regional and Local Governments)
Location: Warsaw, Poland

Application deadline: June 28, 2010, 18:00 pm.
Program dates: September 18, 2010 - October 16, 2010.

Electronic application should be submitted in English and comprise an applicant's most recent CV, Recommendation from the employer indicating that if successful the applicant will be released from the job for the traineeship period,  and the Letter of Motivation including answers to certain questions such as:

** Why do you want to take part in the program?
** How do you understand the aims of the traineeship program and expectations set on the participants?
** What would you like to learn during the participation in the traineeship? What areas of the Polish public administration policy are you interested in?
** How would you like to use the newly acquired knowledge after the return to Georgia?
** Describe in short the character of the most preferable institution where you would like to be attached.
** Basing on the institution selected by you, write in short the possible program of the traineeship, including the aim and the most ineteresting subjects/tasks you would like to deal with during the traineeship in Poland.
