Study tour in Poland
The repre-sentatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and the Centre for Effective Governance System and Territorial Arrangement Reform (CEGSTAR) visited Poland for the study tour.
In 2005 the Statute of the State Commission for Effective Governance System and Territorial Arrangement Reform was approved by the Presidential Decree. The mentioned initiative was an important factor in terms of implementation of the local selfgovernance reform and development of the decentralisation strategies. As a result, special working groups were created under the State Commission for the purpose of developing major directions of the decentralization strategy. Following working groups were created for the purpose of fulfilling assigned tasks: 1) self-governance institutional reform working group; 2) administrative territorial work group; 3) working group for financial and economic authorities of local self-governance; 4) local public officers training and human resource working group; 5) Information Technologies (IT) systems development working group.
